MyPostie allows people to write a letter and scan it at a purpose-built kiosk, and the letter is then delivered as web mail. MyPostie managing director Hugh Trumble said the product would help older Australians who preferred to hand-write letters, and were reluctant to use technology, to communicate with young people who viewed email as essential. He said most people in retirement villages did not use computers, but their children and grandchildren were active users. "Older Australians feel they can't use computers to connect because computer technology tends to be a bit daunting, and sometimes expensive," he said.
